Polyphony and presentation of different points of view are among the most important issues to focus on in analyzing fiction. Dialogism and the expression of thoughts and perspectives move the text out of the realm of monologism and unidirectional thought and create a space for the expression of different ideas. Mostafa Mastour, through expressing thoughts, and philosophical and moral concerns of contemporary human being in his works of ficition, has attempted to create a polyphonic space and to address such concerns from different perspectives. In the novel Kiss the Lovely Face of God, the characters, with their different opinions and intellectual dispositions, enter into dialogues and freely express their thoughts and beliefs. Juxtaposing different voices, the author tries to depict in his works the nihilism, pessimism, disorder, and confusion which mark the contemporary world, as well as the spirit of rebellion, and the derision of the society. By checking and comparing opinions considered in this story, it can be concluded that, although the author has tried to allow different ideas to appear, the mystical view of religion and the amorous beliefs to god is more important in this story, and this voice has become more prominent in comparison with other voices. |
