Female Reflection in Hormozgan Folk tales
Abstract:   (4609 Views)

Abstract

The stories, as important narrative, are narrated in many societies by women. In these narratives, a clear image of the function, role and status of women is drawn; therefore, studying them can lead us to better understanding of the status of women and their lives. In the present article, we try to qualitatively analyze these stories  to find out how is the reflection of women's image in Hormozgan's popular culture. The results of this survey show that although Hormozgan culture is a male-dominated culture and gender inequality also restricts women's political, economic, cultural and social activities, women are more active in many cases, especially in the cultural and social spheres. Marriage for women is very important, and sometimes it is free to choose a spouse. The mythical mind of narrators of stories has caused the role of women to appear in functional and profound conflicting and contradictory structures.Women's stories simultaneously have different aspects such as breeding, affection, charm, delusion and deceit.
